Story: I arrived at the lake an hr late after my mate slept in and was late to pick me up. Getting to the lake we realised that we were going to pay for my mates lie in as every swim on the lake was taken! We decided to hang around and hope one of the many anglers packed up after their cold and early start. After a 6hr wait it all paid off as a swim that commanded a large section of water came free. I set up and got the rods out just before dark. After half an hr after i set up i was standing in my mates swim next door to mine and a chunk launched itself out in front of us. We were sure it was one of the three biggies that are in the lake because of the pure size of it. I was telling him how much i wanted to have one of the 'big 3'. As my mate had had two of them in the past he jokingly said 'you can have em'. About 20 minutes later i walked back to my rods. As i got into view of the rods my buzzer gave out a few bleeps and the tip bent round! As i picked up the rod i knew it was a chunk as it tore line of my reel. The flight lasted about 15 minutes before my mate manged to bundle it into the net. I asked what fish it was and he said it was a fish called The Rudder! I couldn't believe it as this fish had come out 6 weeks previous at 39.15 i was convinced it was going to at least be a pb if not a 40! It ended up going 39 on the nose but i was still over the moon. After only three or four months fishing this new water one of the lakes A Team had graced my net...and a new pb by over 3lbs to boot!
