I arrived at Amwell for the 31st of March.  I baited two areas one marginal spot and one at around 70 yards to a back bay. Both areas were baited with a kilo of spicy hemp and a kilo of the old faithful SC25 at around 5.30am the first morning. After a real screamer I landed a 24lb14oz mirror around about the same time the following morning I received a weird run after picking up the rod to recast. I soon realised I was connected to what felt like a fair old fish.  After playing the fish through a weed bed across a gravel bar and eventually through a large set of lilies, I slipped the net under a lovely mirror which weighed in at 35lb12oz,  a mirror known as Jaffa.
